‘My Bloody Laundrette’ selected for the SheWrites showcase

Since our last blog post it has been a busy old time for Ali and Debs.

Debs has been festivaling hard at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe, enjoying many great shows and catching up with friends and family in her home land. Read all about it in her blog: https://deborahklayman.wordpress.com/2012/08/16/the-best-of-the-fest-2012/

Ali was performing at the CockSquat festival for emerging artists in London in The Echo Chamber with the salon:collective. Ten writers each produced a monologue, inspired by the one before. This collection of beautiful writing was performed and each monologue threaded together with music from the salon:orchestra. The shows received a great reception and indeed the whole festival, which ends tonight, has been the start of something wonderful. We are looking forward to more in the future. http://thecockpit.org.uk/squat

But perhaps the biggest news since our last blog is that My Bloody Laudrette, a short play which we wrote to submit for the 17Percent SheWrites showcase – see our July 11th blog post – has been selected. Whoop! A rehearsed reading of the play will be performed on Wednesday 12th September 2012. We will be there and maybe we will see you there too!
